🔧 Replace clutch
The ICM comes standard with a replica coupling on the front and rear buckets. This can easily be replaced with a magnetic coupling.
To do this, follow these steps:
- Remove the hood by removing the 4 screws at the bottom.
- There's a small cover on the front of the base plate. You can carefully pry this up with a small screwdriver.
- Replace the clutch and put the cover back on.
One spare cap is included, in case the pins on the original cap break.
- Remove the hood by removing the 4 screws at the bottom.

🚆 Magnetic coupling & coupled driving
Each ICM set comes with one magnetic coupling. By simply installing it according to the instructions shown here, you can run two ICM sets connected.
One motorized ICM is capable of towing at least one dummy set.
Of course, you can also connect two motorized couplers for extra power.
Note: Narrow S-curves, such as the Kato Unitrack R248, can cause derailments. No problems have been observed with larger S-curves and switches.
